Rhinoplasty (Nose Job)
Rhinoplasty (a nose job) is a surgical procedure designed to improve the appearance of the nose. The surgery involves precise removal and/or reshaping of the nasal bones and cartilage.
Most rhinoplasty surgeries are completed for cosmetic reasons, to enhance natural beauty. General appearance may be interrupted when the nose is out of proportion with your other facial features (too large, too wide, too long, crooked, has a hump or a droopy tip, or is deformed because of an injury, etc.). Correcting nose appearance and function through rhinoplasty can often improve one’s self-image, which in turn may improve your self-confidence and self-esteem.
A rhinoplasty can frequently enhance your overall appearance as well as improve how the nose functions. Deformities inside the nose that inhibit normal breathing can many times be improved with an internal procedure called septoplasty (correction of the septum). However, when combined with rhinoplasty, internal changes can be accomplished at the same time as straightening the outside of the nose.
